Training Courses



Hazardous Materials

All Courses are based on the latest regulatory requirements and are designed to ensure hazmat employees maintain their certification under the IMDG code and U.S. 49CFR training requirements. The 1,2,3 day and Marine Terminal courses include a student workbook, hands-on exercises with copies of the U.S. regulations under 49CFR Parts 100-177, Emergency Response Guidebook and DOT Placard Chart, a written test and NCB Certificate of Training for those who successfully complete the course.

1-Day Course

Designed as a recertification for hazmat employees who have already completed their initial training. This course is based on The IMDG Code requirements inclusive of the additional requirements under 49CFR for international intermodal dangerous goods shipments. The course is comprised of training and testing in safety and security awareness and general awareness / familiarization covering specific training on use of the hazmat tables, appendices, hazard communication, shipping papers, segregation and emergency response information.

Fees:
Client Location : $1500.00 * plus $65.00 per person
NCB Location   : $ 350.00 per person (minimum number may apply)

2-Day Course

Designed to provide a working knowledge of the requirements for those who have not yet completed their initial training. This course is based on the IMDG Code requirements inclusive of the additional requirements under 49CFR for international intermodal dangerous goods shipments. This course is comprised of training and testing in safety and security awareness and general awareness / familiarization covering specific training on use of the hazmat tables, appendices, hazard communication, shipping papers, segregation and emergency response information.

NCB Location   : $ 515.00 per person (minimum number may apply)

2-Day Course with Vessel Stowage and Segregation

Designed as a recertification for hazmat professionals who have already completed their initial training. This course consists of the 1 Day Course plus the Vessel Stowage & Segregation Course.

Fees:
Client Location : $2500.00 * plus $85.00 per person
NCB Location   : $ 515.00 per person (minimum number may apply)

2 Day 49CFR Course

Designed to provide a working knowledge of the 49CFR requirements. This course is based on the 49CFR requirements comprised of training and testing in safety and security awareness and general awareness / familiarization covering specific training on use of the hazmat table, appendices, hazard communication, shipping papers, segregation and emergency response information.

Client Location : $2500.00 * plus $65.00 per person
NCB Location : $ 515.00 per person (minimum number may apply)

3-Day Course

Designed for hazmat professionals to provide in-depth coverage of the requirements. This course consists of the 2 Day Course plus the Function Specific Vessel Stowage & Segregation Course.

Fees:
Client Location : $3200.00 * plus $85.00 per person
NCB Location   : $ 750.00 per person (minimum number may apply)

IMDG Code Function Specific Vessel Stowage & Segregation Course

Designed to provide a thorough knowledge of the IMDG Code vessel stowage & segregation provisions. This course is a stand-alone, hands-on, function specific training covering the IMDG Code and SOLAS vessel & stowage provisions. This course is ideal for Vessel Officers, Vessel Planners and Vessel Operator’s Hazardous Materials / Dangerous Goods shore based staff. This program is also applicable to Marine Terminal and Stevedore personnel who are involved with stowing vessels.

Marine Terminal Course

Designed specifically for marine terminal operators. This course is based on The IMDG Code requirements inclusive of the additional requirements under 49CFR for international intermodal dangerous goods shipments concerning marine terminal operations. The course is comprised of training and testing in safety and security awareness and general awareness / familiarization covering specific training on use of the hazmat tables, appendices, hazard communication, shipping papers, segregation and emergency response information.

1-Day Shipboard Training

Designed to provide vessel personnel general awareness training under U.S. regulations in 49CFR. This course is based on the 49CFR requirements comprised of training and testing in safety and security awareness and general awareness / familiarization covering specific training on use of the hazmat table, appendices, shipping papers, emergency response information and carriage by vessel.

Fees:
On-site only : $ 800.00 * plus $25.00 per person per session - weekdays, 0800-1700
                    : $1200.00 plus $25.00 per person per session - weekends, holidays, nights

1/2 Day Hazmat Recognition Course

Designed to provide recognition for those working in close proximity to, but without direct responsibility for, hazardous materials / dangerous goods. This course is based on the hazard communication requirement of the IMDG Code inclusive of additional U.S. requirement under 49CFR for international intermodal shipments covering hazard class definition and examples, marking, labeling, placarding and documentation recognition and emergency response information.

Containerization/Flatracks Training

1-Day Containerization Course

Designed to provide a working knowledge of the requirements for those responsible for stuffing containers. This course is based on the CSC, IMDG Code and 49CFR requirements for international intermodal shipments moving by vessel comprised of training and testing in transit stresses, stowage & segregation, cargo securing blocking and bracing, documentation, labels, marks and placards.

On-site only : $1200.00 * plus $35.00 per person

1-Day Flatrack Securing Course

Designed to provide a working knowledge of the requirements for those involved in stowing and securing cargo on flatracks. This course is based on the CSC Convention, SOLAS Convention and CSS Code and discusses the regulatory requirements and the reasons for them and explains methods of securing and demonstrating that the cargo is properly secured and the requirements met.

The course consists of a morning in the classroom followed by an afternoon of hands-on training, during which securing methods specific to flatracks and cargo on-site are demonstrated and critiqued.
