National Cargo Bureau, Inc. is pleased to offer a practical and thorough introduction to the subject of ship’s stability in the form of a U.S. Coast Guard-approved correspondence course. The course consists of fourteen work assignments accompanied by examination questions. Course material is supplemented with the use of a standard textbook widely used in the industry (LaDage & Van Gemert, Stability and Trim for the Ship’s Officer, 3 rd Edition, W. E. George, ed.). The fee for the course covers the cost of all materials necessary to complete the course, including the textbook.
The course consists of more than the textual materials, however. Each work assignment is submitted to National Cargo Bureau upon completion. After correction and review, the lesson is returned to the student with appropriate comments. Upon satisfactory completion of the course, a certificate is issued. Most students complete the course in four to six months. It is emphasized that in order to obtain its full benefit, the course should be completed in this time. NCB will assume no obligation to correct assignments not received within one year of the date of enrollment. No refunds will be made for incomplete courses.
